Since 2000 Dr. Wittchen applied successfully for over 100 research projects funded by the Federal government, the European Union, the German Research Fund (DFG), non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and Industry

Since 2001, the total of successfully applied research funds is 32,539 Million €, as of 11/2009. 54% of this sum came form federal grants by the German Ministry of Research and Technology, 10% by the Ministry of Health, 11% by the Minsitry of Defense, 11% by the European Union (DG Research) and 14% by non-governmental organisations.

Additionally about 10 million € were granted by industry (Novartis, Pfizer, Wyeth, Sanofi, Merck, Organon, Hoffman LaRoche, etc).

I. Publications

The work of the Institute is well received internationally with over a 1000 citations per year and is the only work group at the TUD listed in the Web of Science as "highly-cited" in the fields of psychiatry, psychology and neuroscience.

According to ISI Web of Science there are over 575 items as of 5/2012. The total sum of citations is 29.666; the average citation per item is 51.5, the Hirsch-Index is 78.
